Custom European Window Shades,
Wherever the Project Is
Custom shades ship nationwide with specialist fit review, measurement guidance, and a clear installation path. Local measuring and installation are available across our Northeast service areas; elsewhere, we can coordinate the technical details with your contractor or local installer.
A few photos, rough dimensions, and a note about how the window operates are usually enough for Fran to tell you whether the project is a clean remote fit, needs a video review, or would benefit from onsite measuring.
Who Nationwide Service Fits Best
Remote projects work best when the technical review happens before fabrication.
Our nationwide shipping path is especially strong for homeowners with premium European windows, architects or interior designers working outside the Northeast, and builders or installers who have the labor covered locally but want a specialist specifying the right system from the start. For clients within our local service areas, onsite measuring and installation are available as well.
It is also a strong fit for projects where local shade dealers are not comfortable with tilt & turn windows, narrow frames, shallow recesses, handle conflicts, or more exacting European tolerances. That is often the moment when a remote specialist becomes more useful than a local generalist.
What to Send First
A fast remote review starts with a small, specific packet of information.
For most nationwide projects, the best first step is one straight-on photo, one side-angle photo, rough width and height, and a note about whether the window tilts, turns, or has a projecting handle or crank.
If you already have plans, shop drawings, a window schedule, or exact measurements, send those too. But they are not required to start. A good phone-photo set is often enough to identify the likely system path and flag issues before anyone orders the wrong thing.
Remote Project Checklist
Photos
Front view, side view, and any close-up of the handle, crank, or hardware zone.
Measurements
Approximate width and height, plus usable depth if you know it.
Project Context
City, state, room type, and whether the priority is privacy, glare, blackout, or insulation.
Extra Useful
Plans, elevations, glazing schedules, or a short video if the operation is unusual.
How Remote Projects Run
A specialist process built for remote work, not an afterthought bolted onto a local showroom model.
01
Fit Review
Fran Ross reviews the photos, measurements, and window operation first, before any product is recommended.
02
Measurement Path
We decide whether homeowner-supplied dimensions are sufficient, a video review will help, or an onsite measure is the smarter path.
03
Custom Fabrication
Once the fit is confirmed, the shades are custom fabricated to the exact system and dimensions chosen.
04
Installation Support
Many projects install with a local contractor, millwork team, or installer using the guidance and hardware path established up front.
Best Systems for Nationwide Projects
Tilt & Turn Systems
For inward-opening European windows where frame-mounted fit is essential.
Narrow Mount Shades
For shallow recesses, slim frames, and hard inside-mount conditions.
European Roller Shades
For glare control, cleaner sightlines, and larger contemporary openings.
Honeycomb & Blackout
For bedrooms, family spaces, and projects where comfort matters as much as appearance.
When We Recommend More Support
Onsite Measuring
Best for larger homes, multi-room work, or projects where millimeter accuracy is too important to delegate casually.
Video Review
Useful when the window operation or hardware is easier to show than describe.
Installer Coordination
Helpful when a builder, contractor, or AV team is already involved locally.
Plan Review
Strongest for custom homes and design projects before glazing details become a problem later.
The Sustainable Shades Difference
Uncommon windows call for uncommon precision.
Homeowners, architects, and designers come to us with beautiful windows that have very little mounting depth, narrow frames, inward movement, or hardware exactly where an ordinary bracket would go. We resolve the fit quietly—with premium European systems, exacting measurement, and a finish that belongs in the room.
Specialist Focus
Tilt & Turn
Built around European windows, narrow frames, shallow mounts, and other hard-to-fit conditions.
Precision Process
Measured in mm
Exact tolerances, clear hardware review, and a recommendation based on how the window actually opens.
